Gender + Archaeology = Awesomeness

Welcome to the boring, yet crazy world that is being a graduate in the city of brotherly love. I was coming back from the post office today, carrying a large package that my dear mother sent me. As I was standing there waiting to cross the street, when what I can only assume was a homeless man, approaches me and is like, "Hey there, little cutie pie," and I thought to myself, "This is not a comfortable situation," and prayed for the light to change. Thankfully it did, and I scooted across the street as fast as my little legs could take me.

This city is crazy.

Later, I went to class and was told by my professor that I have to pick a topic for my final paper. Since Gender + Archaeology = Awesomeness, I am thinking that maybe I would like to research early Philadelphia brothels. There was a group called the Magdalen Society founded in the mid 1850s that was meant to help reform "fallen women." Excavations were conducted around 2001. It seems pretty interesting.....I have until Friday to figure it out.
